Marc Morro

Design

Born in Majorca, Marc Morro left the Mediterranean Island at eighteen years old to go to study industrial design at the prestigious Elisava School in Barcelona. 
Subsequentlly, his unstoppable globetrotter spirit leads him in New York, where he will remain for 10 months.
Returning to Barcelona, he finds himself still wondering how and why, when he starts working for Villar-Rosas, an independent advertising agency.
Around the same time Marc Morro creates Surtido, a platform for young local designers, for organizing workshops and other projects dedicated to those who love to share creativity while remaining independent and firm believers to the importance of individuality. His efforts won him the Barcelona City Award for Design, in 2010. 
At that point he stops working at the agency, but he keeps developing new projects: He creates the Otrascosas de Villar-Rosas gallery, he becomes the head of Pecha Kucha Barcelona and, of course, he does not abandon his great passion: Furniture Design. 
Later on, the gallery will be closed, as well as Surtido and someone else will take his place at the Pecha Kucha Barcelona. 
"Too many irons in the fire. Better something less but with more time available.
Nothing is forever and sooner or later, you have to change. And the new is always better, "says Marc. 
This is the time when he began to concentrate on his work as a furniture designer and launches AOO (Altrescoses Otrascosas Otherthings) with Clara Quintana and Oriol Villar, a place where you can discover pieces hard to find, almost unobtainable. 
A selection of objects from various brands from different places in the world, as well as objects by AOO and other design creations by Marc himself. 
At present Marc shares his time between AOO, his most personal project, and teaching at the Elisava school, always with the same prevalent idea in his head: If you do not know what to do, think about it yourself.
