Stone Island and Sacai have joined Nike to celebrate the iconic NIKE Windrunner jacket, the running jacket for thousand of runners in the entire world.
SI has had the master task to renovate the jacket for man.
The brand, founded in 1982, has built his reputation thanks to few words like innovation, research and resistance.
For this project, the chevron and hood of the NikeLab x Stone Island Windrunner are constructed with water and wind-resistant Mussola Gommata fabric, formed by bonding lightweight cotton muslin to an opaque polyurethane film.
Nylon Metal, a proprietary Stone Island fabric with a metallic sheen, is featured on the body of the garment, which is lined with PrimaLoft®.
While the exterior of the jacket is monochromatic, it mimics the traditional Nike Windrunner colorblocking through Stone Island’s garment dyeing process.
The result is a subtle distinction between the shades of the Mussola Gommata and Nylon Metal fabrics. The silver PrimaLoft® lining provides a stunning contrast to the monochromatic exterior, while the oversized trims contribute to a rugged look.
Sacai, instead, has had the master task to renovate the jacket for woman.
The designer has focused on the main result to create a technic jacket that you can wear everyday.
The NikeLab x sacai Year of the Windrunner jacket — Abe’s fourth take on the silhouette — mixes a faux-fur hood and body with ripstop fabric for a unique exploration of texture and movement.
Both jackets will be available from the 17th of December.
Ready for holidays, ready to rock the winter time.
