Milan Men’s Fashion Week Fall Winter 2017/18
This year’s Milan Men’s Fashion Week’s schedule was completely remodeled, in effect, a bit long was the list of the absents of fashion houses that for one reason or another chose to miss this seasonal appointment leaving more spaces to new labels.
There were three debuts of the newly appointed design directors, Francesco Risso for Marni, Alessandro Sartori for Ermenegildo Zegna and Guillaume Meilland for Ferragamo who presented their first men shows, trying to give their own vision to the brand and celebrating a new chapter of their stories.
Prada as always, never disappoints and always exalt: For FW17/18 she proposes an earth tone inspired collection with the intent to transform the weaknesses in strengths.
Andrea Pompilio’s main concept was ‘’freedom forever’’, freedom to be yourself everyday, even in the way we dress, freedom of expressing one’s essence , reflected through the presentation of a “kaleidoscope” of original pieces. Canadian twins of DSquared2 revisit their roots with a cool twist in lumberjack shirts, wool hats, oversized jackets and cardigans.
F for Fendi as F for Fun: Colorfoul looks that “speak” optimism, joy and lots of humor in the realms of a sometimes too serious wardrobe.
No. 21 by Alessandro dell’Acqua is a mix of desiderable, well studied and commercial focused garments.
Two unexpected surprises of these days have been undoubtedly the youngest Milanese brands: Sunnei, with an oversized line with a ready to party attitude, while Federico Curradi, presented a runway show defined by a strong set of values: To create garments that are ethically and morally responsible.
Thank you Milan, as always it has been a great pleasure!
