The Fondazione Prada’s new Milan venue conceived by architecture firm OMA led by architect Rem Koolhaas combines preexisting buildings from a 1910’s distillery with three new structures that will held an exhibition space, a kid’s area designed by students from the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Versailles, and a bar which interiors were designed by Wes Anderson in order to recreate and old Milan café.
On the occasion of the opening the Fondazione will present installations by Robert Gober and Thomas Demand, a new Roman Polansky documentary and the “Serial Classic” exhibition, a selection of artworks from the Prada collection focused in classical sculpture and in the relationship between originality and imitation in Roman culture, curated by Salvatore Settis.
Fondazione Prada’s new Milan venue is scheduled to open the 9th of May of 2015.
